Tasting Notes

Nose

Dark rye bread crust lifts first — caraway, toasted seeds, a smear of honey. Beneath, orange oil, clove, and the warm spice of a baker's kitchen. A faint grassy note trails behind, fresh and green.

Palate

That signature rye spice arrives immediately — black pepper, cinnamon, a hit of dry mint — then softens into honeyed bread, baked apple, and a thread of vanilla. Oily, chewy, and surprisingly sweet beneath the heat.

Finish

Long and spicy, drying into clove, oak, and a last lingering note of rye crust and dark honey. A finish that refuses to fade gracefully — and is all the better for it.

Expert Review

8.5/10

Floor-malted Danish rye, distilled in small direct-fired stills on the west coast of Jutland — spicy, bready, and beautifully its own thing.
