Té Bheag — pronounced 'chay veck,' meaning 'the little lady' or 'a wee dram' in Gaelic — is a blended Scotch from Pràban na Linne on the Isle of Skye. With 40% malt content from Island, Islay, Highland and Speyside sources aged 8-11 years, some matured in sherry casks, it is uncommonly characterful for a budget blend.
The combination of peat and sherry in an affordable blend is Té Bheag's distinctive quality. Most budget blends rely on neutral grain and gentle bourbon-cask malt. Té Bheag adds both smoky peat and winey sherry — an unusual combination that gives it a personality far above its price.
Té Bheag is one of Scotland's great value blends. The high malt content, the sherry influence, the gentle peat and the non-chill-filtered presentation create a blend that embarrasses many whiskies costing twice as much. The wee lady from Skye, with more character than she lets on.
