First Impressions
Glenglassaugh Revival is a whisky with a story baked into its name.
Distillery & Heritage
Glenglassaugh sits on the Moray Firth coast at Sandend Bay, founded in 1875 and mothballed in 1986. After 22 silent years it was bought, restored and reopened in 2008 — and Revival, launched in 2012, was the first whisky distilled entirely under the new ownership.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose is bright and fruity with a clear sherry edge — toffee apple, vanilla and a salty whisper from the seaside warehouses. The palate is sweet and approachable.
Verdict
A thoroughly enjoyable, well-priced coastal Highlander.
