Long, dry, and spiced, with toasted nut, vanilla, and a persistent rye warmth.

Released in 2015, Elliot's Select was the debut Limited Edition single barrel from Brent Elliott, who had recently succeeded Jim Rutledge as Master Distiller at Four Roses. Elliott chose the OESK recipe — the high-rye B mash bill paired with the K yeast, known for delicate spice and floral character — and aged it 14 years before bottling at 110 proof (55% ABV), non-chill filtered.

The choice was telling. OESK is considered one of Four Roses' most elegant recipes, and at 14 years the bourbon has shed any youthful rough edges without losing its fruit and floral brightness. As an introduction to Elliott's vision for the future of Four Roses, it signaled continuity with Rutledge's traditions and a confident hand of his own.

On the nose, vanilla bean and toasted oak lead, with dried apricot, mint, and clove layered underneath. The palate is polished and elegant — caramel, pecan pie, warm cinnamon, and ripe peach glide across the tongue, with oak spice woven throughout. There is weight here but no heaviness, a balance that speaks to careful barrel selection.

The finish is long and dry, toasted nut and vanilla giving way to a rye warmth that lingers softly. Elliot's Select was warmly received by critics and collectors alike, and stands as a confident opening statement from a Master Distiller who has since earned his own place in Four Roses lore.
