Tasting Notes

Nose

Bold candied fruits — plum, raisin, fruitcake — molasses, candied orange peel, tropical banana, pineapple, guava, gentle peat smoke with earthiness

Palate

Rich raisin and berry fruit, smoky peated barley threading through the background, citrus orange, caramel, vanilla, baking spices — the Indian and Scottish barley in perfect conversation

Finish

Brown sugar and lingering berries, gentle peatiness fading slowly — the 50% non-chill-filtered delivering warmth without harshness, tropical maturation evident in the intensity

Expert Review

8.5/10

Jim Murray awarded it 97 points in his Whisky Bible 2010, naming it the 3rd best whisky in the world — 'one of the great whiskies found anywhere.' 75% unpeated Indian barley plus 25% Scottish peated barley, matured separately then married in ex-bourbon casks. From India's pioneering single malt distillery in Bangalore, where tropical climate accelerates maturation at roughly 3x Scotland's rate.
