Highline Straight Kentucky Whiskey at 50% ABV; priced at $49 — at $49.99, the question is whether it delivers on its promise. I sat down with a pour to find out.
Nose
Much more on very light golden amber side of things. Weak leg structure. Not really a big fan of this one. Some promise here, but there’s just too many issues across the nose and the palate, making this whiskey feel somewhat unstructured.
Palate
So so mix of notes of caramel, candy corn, maple syrup, pineapple and apricot. Editor’s Note: This whiskey was either bought as a sample by Whiskeyful or provided to us as a review sample by the party behind it. Per our editorial policies, this in no way influenced the outcome of this review.
Finish
Lets see here cinnamon, baked bread, maple syrup, cotton candy, molasses and orange come across a little disjointed. Finish is sweet and fades too fast, leaving some funk in my back throat after.
The Bottom Line
Highline Straight Kentucky Whiskey is fine — not bad, not great, just fine. At $49.99, I think there are better options in this range if you are willing to look around.
