Tasting Notes

Nose

Peat smoke, tropical fruit, vanilla. The peat is genuine but different from Scottish peat — lighter, sweeter, more aromatic. Beneath the smoke, the distinctive Westland house character: tropical fruit, biscuit malt, a clean cereal richness.

Palate

Smoky and fruity — peat, mango, a gentle malty sweetness. The American peat character is distinct from Islay's maritime intensity — more campfire, less iodine. Mid-palate brings vanilla, dark chocolate and a gentle spice. At 46%, well-balanced.

Finish

Medium-long, with gentle peat smoke and tropical fruit sweetness.

Expert Review

8.2/10

Seattle single malt with Pacific Northwest peat — Washington-smoked barley creating an American take on Islay.
