Nose
Dark fruit, spice, a distinctive French oak character. The French oak imparts a tannic complexity quite different from American or Scottish oak — dark cherry, clove, a resinous warmth. Beneath the wood, malt, honey and a gentle maritime freshness from the Tasmanian coast.
Palate
Rich and complex — dark fruit, French oak spice, a gentle tannic structure. The Tasmanian maturation — warm summers, cool winters — has produced a whisky of genuine depth. Mid-palate brings dark chocolate, dried cherry and a gentle warmth. Each single cask varies, but the quality is consistently exceptional.
Finish
Very long, with French oak complexity and dark fruit sustaining beautifully.
