Tasting Notes

Nose

Sweet mint, baby powder, stone fruits — apricot, fig — French vanilla, nutmeg, salted almonds, prominent oak — the Lustau sherry influence adding richness

Palate

Intense nuttiness from the Oloroso finish, raisins, dates, figs, bright red berries, zesty lemon pound cake covered in berry compote — rich, buttery, oily mouthfeel

Finish

Lengthy, creamy, and spicy all at once — lingering dried fruit and nut character, the Lustau butts leaving their Jerez signature throughout

Expert Review

8.5/10

A collaboration between Irish Distillers and the renowned Bodegas Lustau in Jerez, Spain. Initially matured 9-12 years in bourbon and sherry casks, then finished for one year in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts hand-selected from Lustau. Non-chill filtered at 46%. Delivers significantly more depth and complexity than Redbreast 12 at a similar price point.
