Tasting Notes

Nose

Dark, brooding, almost gothic. Crushed walnut, antique furniture polish, fig paste and a curl of pipe tobacco. Beneath, dried cherries soaked in old Oloroso and a wisp of incense.

Palate

Enormous and oily — bitter chocolate, espresso grounds, blood orange peel and a slick of pomegranate molasses. The sherry influence is huge but never sweet, threaded with leather, clove and Christmas cake.
