Tasting Notes

Nose

Butterscotch, fudge, creamy toffee, honey, shortbread, faint vanilla — the double char adding depth the standard Jameson lacks

Palate

Nutty and smooth — vanilla, cinnamon spice, butter, lemony citrus — the elevated pot still content and sherry influence adding fruit-like richness

Finish

Toasted wood and lingering vanilla — moderate length, the double-charred barrels leaving their caramel signature

Expert Review

7/10

The step up from standard Jameson — double-charred ex-bourbon barrels (fired once during coopering, charred again before filling) and a higher proportion of single pot still whiskey for more body and spice. Part of Jameson's 'Makers Series' from Midleton. The double-charring was developed by Midleton's coopers to coax deeper caramel and spice from reused American oak.
