Tasting Notes

Nose

Sea salt, wet wool, a slight sulphurous note. Beneath the coastal character, honey and malt, but the maritime influence dominates. A polarising nose that divides opinion immediately.

Palate

Briny and malty — salt, cereal, a savoury quality that places this closer to a Highland coastal malt than a typical Speyside. Some sweetness emerges mid-palate — toffee, dried grass — but the overall impression is dry and saline.

Finish

Medium, dry and salty, with a lingering savoury warmth and a last note of barley.

Expert Review

7.5/10

A coastal Speyside curiosity — briny and slightly sulphurous, an acquired taste even among malt enthusiasts.
