Tasting Notes

Nose

Pineapple, honey, baked banana, vanilla, subtle spice, perfumed oak, orchard fruits — apple, pear — white pepper, creamy malt

Palate

Spicy oak — cloves, nutmeg — fennel, raisins, nougat, cinnamon, dark cherry, roasted hazelnut, vanilla — rich and well-balanced, the French oak adding a continental note

Finish

Short to medium — light pastry, honey, cinnamon trail — pleasant but fades a touch quickly at 40%

Expert Review

7/10

Matured in French Limousin oak barrels — the same wood used for Cognac and Armagnac ageing. Originally launched as a travel retail exclusive before entering the core range. The Limousin oak adds a distinctive continental spice character absent from typical ex-bourbon or ex-sherry matured Speyside malts. 15 years, 40%.
