Almonds and gentle warmth — pleasant, approachable, the kind of whisky that conquered Italy

Expert Review

7/10

Italy's favourite Scotch — importer Armando Giovinetti brought it to Italy in 1961, and by the early 1970s it was the country's No.1 selling Scotch. Founded 1840 by brothers John and James Grant, former illegal distillers who went legit. Gruppo Campari purchased it in 2006 largely because of this Italian connection. Tall slender stills and purifiers create the signature fresh, clear, light character.
