Tasting Notes

Nose

Dark fruit compote, furniture polish, lemon curd. Figs, leather and old books. A surprisingly complex nose for a single grain — the fifteen years of bourbon maturation create genuine depth.

Palate

Dry and moreish — butterscotch, five spice, mint chocolate chip and brown sugar. The fifteen years have given the grain spirit genuine character and weight. At 50%, excellent body for a grain whisky.

Finish

Lingering, lovely and very smooth. Dries down slowly.

Expert Review

7.8/10

The Clydebuilt series' first single grain — fifteen years in bourbon from a Lowland distillery, selected by Max McFarlane.
