Tasting Notes

Nose

Honeyed toffee, mango, mashed banana, vanilla custard, buttery shortbread, dark fruit compote, raisin, light floral, dusty cereal — rich and inviting

Palate

Cherry-heavy dark fruit, toasted almonds, malt, toffee, red vermouth character, sherry nuttiness — oak and spice alongside cherry and plum

Finish

Long and warming — jammed berry notes lingering with orange marmalade and milk chocolate — the port pipes leaving their signature

Expert Review

8/10

Triple-distilled single malt from the world's oldest licensed distillery (1608). Triple-wood maturation: ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then finished for nine months in port pipes. Often considered the sweet spot of the Bushmills range — more complex than the 10, before the rarer 21. The port finish gives it uncommon complexity for Irish whiskey.
