25 reviewsIteration II is a step up from the first release in my opinion. Beautiful balance of orchard fruits and baking spices, with a long warm finish. I added a few drops of water and it opened up even more — got butterscotch and a faint nuttiness. One of the best Lowland whiskies I've had this year.

18 February 2026It's a solid dram — creamy, gentle spice, hints of green apple and toffee. But at nearly a hundred quid I expected a bit more depth or complexity. I keep reaching for it after dinner so it's clearly doing something right, just feels slightly overpriced for what it is.

17 January 2026Picked this up expecting something light and floral but the 48.3% ABV really carries the flavour. Honey, vanilla, and a touch of citrus peel on the nose that follows through nicely on the palate. Drinking it neat and it doesn't need water at all. Bladnoch are doing interesting things with this Dragon Series.

18 December 2025Nose is lovely — fresh pear, light honey, a bit of malt. The taste is smooth and easy drinking at 48.3% which is impressive. My only gripe is it doesn't really go anywhere unexpected. If you like classic Lowland character done well this will suit you, but don't expect fireworks.
