The £99.25 price tag is reasonable for what appears to be a limited, curated expression — you're not overpaying, though you are paying a premium over everyday drams. What pushes this into positive territory is the bottling strength and the clear intention behind the release. This isn't filler. It's a whisky that was made to be noticed, and for collectors following the Dragon Series, it's an obvious pickup. For everyone else, it's a genuinely interesting Lowland option at a strength that respects the spirit.
Best Served
Pour this neat in a Glencairn and give it ten minutes to open up. A Lowland whisky at this ABV deserves the space to breathe. If you want to mix, it would make a beautifully smooth base for a Rob Roy — the lighter Lowland character pairs brilliantly with sweet vermouth without fighting it. A few drops of water won't hurt either; at 48.3%, it can handle it and might even reward you with something unexpected.
