Tasting Notes

Nose

Creamy and bright — honey, vanilla, butterscotch, lemon zest, orange, fresh flowers, heather, a bready panettone quality

Palate

Lighter-bodied and malt-forward — honey, green lemon, butter, red apple, biscuit, cantaloupe, pear — zesty and approachable

Finish

Medium — citrus, cereal malt, a touch of ginger spice — pleasant but fades a little quickly at 40%

Expert Review

7/10

Produced at Knockdhu Distillery, established 1894 in Knock, Aberdeenshire — renamed 'anCnoc' (Gaelic for 'the hill') in 1993 to avoid confusion with Knockando. Built by John Morrison after a natural spring was discovered during excavations. Unpeated, matured in ex-bourbon and Spanish oak casks. One of the best value Highland malts at the price.
