Tasting Notes

Nose

Orange peel and red apple — banana, vanilla, toasted nuts, aniseed, heather, chocolate and barley emerging as it opens, the double cask adding nutty depth

Palate

Soft and fruity — transitioning to rich sherry character, chocolate, caramel, honey, the American oak providing sweetness while the sherry oak adds dried fruit and spice depth, perfectly balanced

Finish

Smoky sherry — sweetness lingering, the double cask providing a warm, comforting close, accessible and moreish

Expert Review

8/10

Double-matured in American oak and sherry oak casks — orange peel, chocolate, caramel, and honey with soft sherry. A luxurious Speyside comfort dram described as 'apple pie and spice'. One of the best value plays among Speyside single malts. Consistently good, consistently accessible.
