Nose
Roasted corn, masa, a warm tortilla-like sweetness. Beneath it, vanilla, caramel and a dusty earthiness that recalls sun-baked clay. Unique and immediately recognisable — this smells like nothing else in the whisky world.
Palate
Sweet roasted corn dominates — creamy, almost buttery, with a gentle spice and hints of milk chocolate. The nixtamalization process gives the spirit a distinctive masa character that carries through the entire palate. A touch of oak and vanilla from the barrel, but the corn is unquestionably the star.
Finish
Medium, warm, with roasted corn sweetness lingering alongside a gentle oakiness and a last note of toasted grain.
Expert Review
7.8/10Mexico's first whisky — ancestral cacahuazintle corn nixtamalized before distillation, creating something genuinely new.

3 reviewsI'd never tried anything from this distillery before and I'm genuinely impressed. Deep copper colour, aromas of dried apricot and toasted almond, and a palate with wonderful weight and texture. There's a savoury note underneath that gives it real character. Will definitely be buying more.
16 May 2026Gorgeous nose of butterscotch, fresh-cut oak, and a hint of orange peel. On the palate it's smooth and layered with lovely warmth that builds gently. The finish has a pleasant nutty sweetness that makes you reach for another sip. Perfect neat or with a single ice cube.
2 May 2026From the moment you crack the seal, this whiskey announces itself. Rich aromas of toffee, dried fruit, and old leather give way to a palate that's both powerful and remarkably elegant. The mid-palate weight is extraordinary — concentrated without being heavy. The finish lingers for what feels like a full minute with waves of oak spice and dark chocolate. Absolutely world-class.
