First Impressions
Redbreast 21 enters the glass deeply burnished and walks the rare line between maturity and vibrancy.
Distillery & Heritage
Like the rest of the Redbreast core range, the 21 is distilled at Midleton from a mixed mash of malted and unmalted barley and matured in a combination of American bourbon and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks for a minimum of 21 years. Bottled at 46% and non-chill filtered, it has won numerous World Whiskies Awards 'World's Best Pot Still' titles since its launch in 2013.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose is unusually tropical — mango and papaya — over dried fig, polished oak and warm baking spice. The palate is sumptuous: tropical fruit, sherried fruitcake, toasted almond, espresso and that oily pot still texture.
Verdict
Among the very finest Irish whiskeys money can buy.
