25 reviewsThis is what I was hoping for when I heard Torabhaig were doing single casks. At 58.7% it's a beast neat, but add a few drops of water and you get this gorgeous mix of peat smoke, salted caramel and orchard fruit. The Scottish oak influence really comes through with a spicy, tannic edge that sets it apart from the standard bottlings.

9 March 2026I've been collecting Torabhaig releases since the Legacy series and this single cask is the best thing they've put out so far. The Scottish oak adds this rich, almost wine-like depth you don't get from standard bourbon or sherry casks. Yes it's young whisky at a premium price, but honestly I'd take this over plenty of older malts sitting on the shelf at the same money.

7 January 2026Had this neat over an evening and it really opened up as the glass warmed. First impression is all campfire smoke and sea salt, then these lovely baked apple and dried fig notes creep in from the Scottish oak. At 58.7% ABV it handles water brilliantly without falling apart. Really interesting stuff from Torabhaig.

18 December 2025I wanted to love this more than I did. The peat and the Scottish oak cask give it plenty of character, and the strength is spot on for a single cask release. But there's a slight rawness that I think another couple of years would have smoothed out. Still a solid dram, just not quite worth the hundred quid for me.

28 November 2025Picked this up from The Whisky Exchange on a bit of an impulse. Lovely coastal peat on the nose with some vanilla and toasted oak underneath. At £100 for a young single cask it's not exactly a bargain, but the quality is there and you can tell this distillery is going places.
