40 reviewsI've had a few port-finished whiskies and this one nails it. The tawny port adds layers of raspberry, walnut, and soft spice without overwhelming the spirit. Sipping this neat after dinner is an absolute treat. Worth every penny of the hundred quid.

23 March 2026Classic Tomintoul honeyed sweetness but the port cask adds dried fig and plum jam notes that make it more interesting. Nose is all red fruits and vanilla. Good balance overall, though I wish the finish lingered a bit longer.

4 March 2026It's a pleasant dram, no question. Lots of stewed fruit and a hint of cinnamon on the nose. But at nearly £100 there are other 15 year old Speysides I'd reach for first. The port influence is there but feels a touch restrained for a pipe finish.

28 February 2026People sleep on Tomintoul and I don't understand why. This 15 year old with the tawny port finish is genuinely excellent. Rich nose of dark berries and marzipan, smooth as anything on the palate. I keep going back to it over flashier bottles on my shelf.

25 February 2026Picked this up on a whim and I'm glad I did. The tawny port pipe finish gives it this gorgeous berry and dark chocolate thing on the palate. At 46% it's got enough punch without being harsh — I drink it neat and it's silky smooth for a 15 year old.
