Nose

Vanilla, marshmallow, lemon, pine forest, slightly green — young but clean

Palate

Sweet and clean — pineapple cube sweets, vanilla, cracked pepper, sweet barley, light tropical fruit

Finish

Short — slightly bitter, drying oak — the youth showing, but the price forgiving everything

NAS entry-level Tomatin. Bourbon barrels and virgin oak casks. Won top NAS single malt at IWSC (98/100). One of Scotland's largest distilleries. Clearly young but clean, sweet, and approachable. Hard to beat at £22. The daily sipper from the Japanese-owned Highland giant.
