I grabbed this on a whim because I'd never tried Danish whisky before. At 51.5% it's got real punch but doesn't burn — there's this lovely honey and toasted grain thing going on with a hint of dried fruit. For £88 it's not cheap but I've paid more for less interesting Scotch single malts.

Clara Johansson — Solid but not a revelation

Poured this neat after dinner and it's a competent single malt. Nice bready, slightly nutty nose with some vanilla and a touch of smoke. The finish is medium and pleasant enough. I just think at nearly £90 you're paying a premium for the novelty of it being Danish.
