The Equinox is a well-made single malt with lovely spiced honey and dark chocolate notes. I enjoy it neat after dinner. Nearly ninety quid is a lot to ask though, especially when you can get a decent Speyside for less. That said, the quality is there.

I picked this up on a whim and it's genuinely one of the best English whiskies I've tried. Rich sherry influence on the nose with dried fruits and a hint of orange peel. At 46.6% it's got enough punch to keep things interesting but never burns. Worth every penny of the £89.
