Tasting Notes

Nose

Floral, vanilla, honey, lemon citrus, sultanas, light rum sweetness — the rum cask finish adding an unusual tropical warmth

Palate

Crunchy cereal grains, vanilla, rum raisin, dried apricot, allspice, slight banana ester, creamy mouthfeel — the rum influence threading through without dominating

Finish

Medium-short — warm, lingering spice, the 46% delivering more body than most Irish whiskeys at this price, benefits from a splash of water

Expert Review

In 1782, Walter Teeling established a distillery in Dublin's Liberties. In 2015, Jack and Stephen Teeling opened the first new Dublin whiskey distillery in 125 years — in Newmarket Square, just streets from the original site. A blend of malt and grain whiskey finished in Central American ex-Flor de Caña rum casks. Non-chill filtered at 46%.
