8.3/10A cask-strength Highland single malt from Teaninich, finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry wood and bottled by Single Cask Nation at a punchy 57% ABV — fifteen years old, honestly priced, and quietly impressive at 8.3/10.

13 reviewsThis is what I want from a single cask bottling. 57% ABV and it doesn't batter you — there's enough sweetness from the PX finish to balance the heat. I get stewed plums, a hint of bitter orange peel, and warm baking spices on the finish. Been nursing this bottle slowly.

14 March 2026I picked this up for around £92 and it's a good dram, no question. Rich sherry-soaked fruit on the nose with some oak spice underneath. Neat it's a bit hot at cask strength, but with water it smooths out nicely. Fair price for a single cask 15 year old.

8 March 2026The Pedro Ximénez finish on this Teaninich is gorgeous — dried figs, dark chocolate, and a sticky toffee sweetness that just lingers. At 57% it's got real punch but a few drops of water opens it right up. Fifteen years has done this one a lot of favours.

28 January 2026Had this neat after a big meal and it was perfect for the occasion. The PX sherry cask gives it loads of dried fruit and a almost port-like richness. At 15 years old there's enough maturity to keep things interesting. Would buy again if I spot another bottle from Single Cask Nation.

18 January 2026Don't get me wrong, it's tasty — big raisin and Christmas cake notes from the PX cask. But I found it leans so heavily on the sherry influence that the Teaninich character gets buried. I'd have liked more of that waxy Highland distillery DNA to come through.
