Tasting Notes

Nose

Orange pith, white chocolate, plummy umeshu notes, waxy crayons — the port adding fruit to the smoke

Palate

Characteristic Talisker brine but sweeter — chilli heat, chocolate orange, increasingly smoky — port and peat in harmony

Finish

Medium-long — port sweetness fading into maritime peat smoke and black pepper — Portree in a glass

Expert Review

7.5/10

Named after Portree, Skye's largest town (pronounced 'Port-Ree'). Finished in ruby port casks after American and European refill oak. NAS, 45.8%. The port sweetness and Talisker's maritime smoke create a successful marriage. Good value in Talisker's expanding range.
