It's a solid rye with some genuinely unique character from those sweet wine casks — think raisins, baking spice, a hint of dark cherry. But at nearly £90 I keep comparing it to what else I could get for that money. I'd buy it once for the experience but probably wouldn't replace it.

I grabbed this on a whim and I'm really glad I did. The sweet wine cask influence gives it this lovely dried fruit and spice thing that works brilliantly with the rye grain. At 46% it's got enough punch to keep things interesting neat but never gets hot. Stauning are putting Denmark on the whisky map.
