Tasting Notes

Nose

Maritime brine, honey, a gentle peat smoke. The local barley adds a distinctive cereal depth to the familiar Springbank maritime character. Beneath the brine, dried fruit, leather and a gentle warmth. At cask strength, vivid and complex.

Palate

Full and maritime — salt, smoke, a rich barley sweetness. The locally grown barley contributes a cereal depth that distinguishes this from standard Springbank. Mid-palate brings dark chocolate, smoked honey and a savoury warmth. Twelve years and cask strength combine magnificently.

Finish

Very long, with maritime complexity and barley richness sustaining beautifully.

Expert Review

8.5/10

Campbeltown terroir at its purest — locally grown barley, Springbank distillation, cask strength. Magnificent.
