Tasting Notes

Nose

Peat smoke, cereal richness, maritime freshness. The Islay-grown barley adds a distinctive agricultural quality to the heavy peat. Beneath the smoke, honey, citrus and a gentle warmth. Terroir through smoke.

Palate

Peated and grain-forward — smoke, cereal, a gentle maritime sweetness. The Islay barley gives the peat a different character from the standard Port Charlotte. Mid-palate brings smoked honey, a gentle warmth and a distinctive cereal depth. At 50%, excellent body.

Finish

Long, with Islay peat and a clean grain warmth.

Expert Review

8.2/10

100% Islay-grown barley, heavily peated — Bruichladdich's terroir concept applied to Port Charlotte's smoky style.
