7.9/10

An Israeli single malt bottled at a bold 51.3% ABV, the Pelter 5 Year Old Batch 2 is a compelling argument that great whisky knows no borders — warm-climate maturation and cask-strength conviction deliver a dram that punches well above its age statement.

Clara Johansson VIPsAllowed — Interesting but pricey
7/10

Decent single malt with some nice stone fruit and vanilla notes on the nose. The palate delivers warm spice and a touch of citrus. At £90 for a 5-year-old though, I think you're paying a premium for the novelty factor — comparable Scotch at this age statement costs half that.

I grabbed this on a whim because I'd never tried Israeli whisky before. At 51.3% it's got real punch but doesn't burn — there's honey, dried apricot, and a bit of oak spice that lingers nicely. Would happily buy another bottle.
