7.6/10A cask-strength Indian single malt from Paul John, selected by Single Cask Nation — young in years but matured fast in Goa's tropical heat. At 57.6% ABV, it rewards patience and a few drops of water.

40 reviewsGood whisky, no question. Rich and malty with some nice spice on the finish. But at nearly a hundred quid for a 4-year-old, I keep thinking about what else I could grab at that price point. I'd buy a dram at a bar before committing to a bottle.

28 April 2026I was skeptical of Indian single malts until a friend poured me this neat. Honey, dried apricot, a bit of oak char — it's layered and interesting. The cask strength is no joke at 57.6% but it never feels harsh. Single Cask Nation picked a winner here.

4 April 2026Enjoyed this over a couple of evenings. Vanilla and coconut on the nose, some baking spice and a medium finish. It's well made and easy to like, but at this age it doesn't quite have the depth I look for in a special occasion bottle.

17 January 2026Always curious what SCN selects and this Paul John doesn't disappoint. Ripe banana and butterscotch on the nose, warm spices on the palate with a medium-long finish. It's youthful but confident. Would pair nicely with a rich dessert if you're into that sort of thing.

5 January 2026Poured this for my tasting group and it was the surprise hit of the night. At 57.6% ABV it's big but approachable — loads of pineapple, toffee, and a touch of leather. We all agreed the Goa climate does something magical to maturation. Four years feels like eight.
