8.1/10Old Perth's 2009 Vintage Collection delivers a 15-year-old cask-strength blended malt at a fair price point, with the brand's signature sherry-led style and the kind of depth that only patient maturation can provide.

21 reviewsIt's a perfectly nice sherried whisky and the cask strength is welcome, but I found it stayed in one lane the whole way through. Dried fruit, more dried fruit, bit of spice, done. At nearly a hundred quid I'd probably reach for something with a bit more going on. Not bad by any means though.

17 March 2026I've had a few from the Vintage Collection and this 2009 is my favourite so far. The nose is incredible — raisins, toffee, a touch of leather. Palate delivers exactly what the nose promises. I'm already thinking about grabbing a backup bottle before they're gone.

15 February 2026This is all dried fruits, cinnamon, and nutmeg. My partner even commented on how good it smelled when I poured it. At 53.6% it's got serious warmth but never feels harsh. A proper winter evening whisky.

14 February 2026Nice warming dram with dried fruit and a hint of orange peel. The cask strength gives it plenty of body without being overpowering. I wouldn't say it blew me away but I've gone back to it several nights in a row, which says something.

11 December 2025For a 15 year old at cask strength, £95 is genuinely good value these days. Rich sherry-soaked fruit on the nose, then dark chocolate and stewed plums on the palate. I added a few drops of water to tame the 53.6% and it really opened up into something special. One of the better bottles in the Old Perth range for me.

1 December 2025Decent sherry influence and some nice spice from the ABV, but for a 15 year old vintage release I was hoping for more complexity. The finish is a bit short. Still enjoyable neat after dinner, just not quite the depth I wanted at this price point.

9 November 2025Poured this neat first and it was a bit hot, even for someone who usually enjoys cask strength. Added water and it transformed — got lovely honey and stewed apple notes I wasn't picking up before. The 2009 vintage clearly spent its time well in the cask. Would happily recommend to anyone who likes their whisky on the richer side.
