Tasting Notes

Nose

Ripe banana, orange marmalade, stewed peaches and apricots, vanilla crème, toffee, ginger, salted caramel, clove, Oban's signature coastal salinity

Palate

Ripe sweet fruits, vanilla, malt, spiced date nut bread, peppery ginger, Golden Delicious apples, butterscotch — characterful and full

Finish

Very long, oily then drying — hint of mint, slightly tannic — the small cask intensity coming through

NAS West Highland release from tiny Oban distillery. Married in the smallest casks the distillery has — 200-litre refill ex-bourbon barrels — to maximise wood contact. Won Double Gold at San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2016. 43%.
