Tasting Notes

Nose

Sweet orange, malty funk, Highland peat, grilled pineapple, toasted hazelnuts, candied orange, honey, delicate smoke — gentler peat than Islay

Palate

Citrus and creaminess, butterscotch, toffee, light smoky peat, ginger, pepper, nutmeg, ash — light-bodied with balanced sweetness

Finish

Short — smoke, apple, vanilla — too fleeting neat but perfect in a Penicillin cocktail

Expert Review

7/10

The peated extension of Monkey Shoulder — Speyside single malts (Balvenie, Glenfiddich, Kininvie) with added peated malt. Highland-style peat, less medicinal than Islay. Best suited for smoky cocktails (especially a Penicillin) rather than neat sipping. 40%, NAS.
