7.9/10A 12-year-old independent bottling from Miltonduff at 46% — honest Speyside character without pretension. Solid value, well-judged strength, and a reminder that this under-the-radar distillery deserves more attention.

24 reviewsPicked this up on a whim and I'm glad I did. The nose is all honey and green apple, palate adds some spice and a hint of ginger. At 12 years old it's nicely mature without being over-oaked. I keep reaching for this one over flashier bottles on my shelf.

23 February 2026This is a well-made whisky that does nothing wrong but doesn't blow me away either. Gentle fruit and cereal notes, easy drinking at 46%. I'd recommend it to someone exploring Speyside for the first time, but seasoned drinkers might find it a bit linear.

24 December 2025I enjoyed this neat over a quiet evening. Light and fruity with some floral notes — very typical Speyside character. The finish fades a bit quicker than I'd like for the price point. It's a pleasant dram but I've had Miltonduffs from other bottlers that had more going on.

5 December 2025Miltonduff doesn't get enough love as a single malt and this 2011 vintage proves why it should. Creamy texture, biscuity malt, dried apricot. Added a few drops of water and it opened up beautifully. Solid independent bottling.

1 December 2025Genuinely surprised by how good this is. Rich butterscotch and stewed fruit on the nose, the palate delivers vanilla, citrus peel, and a long warming finish. For under a hundred quid for a 12 year old indie Speyside at natural colour and 46%, this is a steal. Already hunting a backup bottle.

10 November 2025I've had a few Daily Dram bottlings and this Miltonduff is one of their best picks. Gorgeous nose of pear, heather honey, and a little waxy quality I love. The non-chill filtered 46% really lets the flavours come through. Worth every penny of the £99.

31 October 2025Pleasant enough dram with some apple and malt sweetness on the nose. The palate is clean with a medium finish. For a hundred quid though, I'd want a bit more complexity — there are 12 year old Speysides out there that give you more bang for your buck.
