Picked this up curious about the cedarwood cask experiment. The wood influence is definitely present — aromatic, almost tea-like — but it fights with the base spirit a bit. For ninety quid I expected those elements to be more integrated. Still glad I tried it though.

The Japanese cedarwood finish on this is genuinely unique — you get this lovely sandalwood and incense note on the nose that I haven't found in any other Irish whiskey. At 48% it carries real weight without being harsh. Sipping it neat after dinner has become a bit of a ritual.
