8/10A 16-year-old cask strength Longmorn from Gleann Mòr's Rare Find series, matured in a Barbadillo Oloroso sherry cask. At £92.95, this is a seriously well-priced independent Speyside single malt that rewards patience and a splash of water.

33 reviewsI've had a few Gleann Mor releases and this 16 year old Longmorn holds up nicely. The Barbadillo sherry influence gives it a rich toffee and raisin character without drowning out the distillery's fruity core. Good value at £93 for a cask strength single malt of this age.

2 April 2026I enjoy the rich fruity profile and the nose is genuinely lovely — raisins, caramel, hint of tobacco. On the palate though, the cask strength ABV can be a bit aggressive even with water. It settles after 20 minutes in the glass. Not bad at all but needs patience.

11 March 2026Under a hundred quid for a 16 year old cask strength sherried Speyside? Yes please. The Barbadillo oloroso cask has done wonderful things here — fig jam, leather, and a long spicy finish. My bottle is disappearing far too quickly.

6 February 2026Longmorn doesn't get enough love as a distillery and this bottling shows why it should. Nose is all orange peel and marzipan, taste brings in dark treacle and walnut. I keep reaching for this one over bottles that cost twice as much.

16 January 2026I grabbed this on a whim not knowing much about Longmorn and I'm glad I did. Classic sherried malt — dried apricot, cinnamon, dark honey — nothing revolutionary but everything is well integrated. At 16 years old and natural strength for £93 it feels fairly priced. Would happily buy another.
6 January 2026This Longmorn is exactly what I want from an oloroso cask finish — big dried fruit, Christmas cake, and a lovely nuttiness on the nose. At 55.6% it carries the heat well, just a gentle warmth rather than a burn. Sipped neat after dinner and it kept revealing new layers for a good hour. Seriously impressed.
