I was skeptical about a peated whisky in a red wine cask but this Ledaig absolutely nails it. The smoke hits first, then you get these dark berry and plum notes from the Bordeaux cask that just linger. At cask strength it's a beast neat, but a few drops of water opens it right up. One of the best surprises I've had this year.
