Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich peat, charred oak sweetness, dried fruit. The charred oak refill casks add a sweet, vanilla-rich dimension to Lagavulin's maritime peat. Beneath the smoke, caramel, a gentle spice and a briny freshness. A more accessible Lagavulin than the standard 16.

Palate

Smoky and sweet — peat, charred oak vanilla, a gentle fruit sweetness. The charred oak casks provide a bourbon-like sweetness that balances the Islay peat effectively. Mid-palate brings dark chocolate, smoked honey and a gentle warmth. At 46%, excellent body.

Finish

Long, with peat smoke and charred oak sweetness sustaining together.

Ron Swanson's favourite whisky, officially — charred oak refill casks adding a smoky-sweet twist to Lagavulin.
