I keep reaching for this over my other bottles lately. The sherry cask gives it this gorgeous dark fruit and toffee character, and it's smooth enough to sip neat after dinner. Really well balanced for a blended malt.

The sherry cask really comes through on this one — dried fruit, Christmas cake, and a nice warmth that lingers. At 43% it's easy drinking neat, doesn't need any water. I'd been curious about the Kurayoshi range for a while and this didn't disappoint.

Pleasant enough dram with clear sherry sweetness, some raisin and dark chocolate on the nose. Finish is medium length, maybe a touch thin. At £92 I expected a bit more depth though — there are sherried Scotch malts at this price that offer more complexity.

Nice sherry notes upfront — plum, a bit of walnut — but it fades quickly and the finish is shorter than I'd like. It's fine on the rocks but I don't think it stands up against something like a sherried Yamazaki. Would try it at a bar before committing to a full bottle at this price.
