Tasting Notes

Nose

Caramelised peach and pear, icing sugar and marshmallow. A vibrant gold colour and a fresh, sweet, uplifting opening. The STR wine cask contribution shows in the fruit's intensity.

Palate

Caramelised poached pear with a distinct tropical quality — juicy peach, apricot, pineapple and papaya. Hazelnut praline, hints of walnut and almond. Toasted oak complemented by white chocolate and brioche notes. Genuine complexity for a young Lowland malt.

Finish

On the short side — the sweet elements drift away, revealing a slightly hot, peppery quality that shows the youthful age. A minor blemish on an otherwise impressive whisky.
