Nose
Christmas cake soaked in oloroso, raisins, fig jam, dark chocolate and a thread of polished mahogany.
Palate
Enormous arrival of treacle, prunes, dates and walnut oil, with cinnamon bark and bitter orange weaving through the cask-strength heat.
Finish
Long, resinous and warming — sticky toffee pudding fading into clove and tannic oak.
