I grabbed this small bottle to try before committing to a full-size and I'm glad I did. It's pleasant enough — some honey sweetness, a touch of smoke — but neat it just doesn't hold my attention. Where it shines is in a highball with soda and a twist of orange. For the price it works as a cocktail base.

Picked up the small bottle on a whim for under a tenner and was pleasantly surprised. Creamy honey and vanilla on the nose, with a gentle warmth that belies the 40% ABV. I usually drink it neat after dinner — it's not complex, but it's genuinely enjoyable and easy to recommend.

Gold Label Reserve is fine. It's smooth, approachable, and has nice notes of dried fruit and toffee. At 40% it feels a bit thin compared to some cask-strength stuff I've been into lately, but for £9.95 you're getting a reliable dram that won't offend anyone at a gathering.
