Tasting Notes

Nose

Sherry, buttery caramel, honey, vanilla, stewed pear and peach, cinnamon, ginger, apricot jam — richer than standard Jameson

Palate

Creamy, buttery — sherry, strawberries and cream, honey, orchard fruit, butterscotch, banana, copper and spice — the 80% pot still giving it body

Finish

Medium — strawberries and cream, spice, butterscotch, gentle copper — the bartender's choice for a reason

Expert Review

7.5/10

Known as 'the bartender's Jameson.' 80% single pot still, 20% grain — higher pot still than standard Jameson, with a larger sherry cask proportion. First bottled 1963 at Bow Street Distillery, Dublin. Sits between everyday Jameson and richer Redbreast. Complex yet approachable. 40%.
