Beautiful balance of malt sweetness, orchard fruits, and just a hint of smoke lingering in the finish. The 46.5% ABV is spot on — I had it neat and then with a few drops of water and both ways were excellent. One of my favourite Japanese whiskies under £100.

There's a real elegance to it — soft fruit, a little floral quality on the nose, and the palate has this lovely biscuity maltiness with a wisp of smoke. Had it on the rocks on a warm evening and it was perfect. The 46.5% holds up well with ice too.

At 46.5% it's got enough kick to keep things interesting without being harsh. Drinking it neat is the way to go.
