8.1/10A well-aged Speyside single malt that trades flash for substance. Glenrothes 15 Year Old is a quietly confident dram — honest, approachable, and fairly priced in a market full of noise.

40 reviewsI enjoy this but I wish Glenrothes had pushed the ABV a bit higher. At 43% it feels slightly thinned out, especially on the finish. The sherry influence is there — raisins, a bit of nutmeg — but it fades quickly. A cask strength version of this would be incredible.

4 May 2026It's a well-made whisky, no question. Toffee, gentle spice, clean finish. I had it neat over a few evenings and enjoyed it fine. But at nearly a hundred quid I wanted something that would really surprise me, and it never quite did. Would happily drink it at a bar but probably won't repurchase.

29 April 2026Been working through the Glenrothes range and the 15 is probably the best value in the lineup. You get that classic Speyside profile — fruity, malty, a bit of oak — but with real depth from the extra years. I keep coming back to it over flashier bottles on my shelf.

26 April 2026Poured this for a few friends who are just getting into whisky and they all loved it. It's approachable without being boring — honeycomb and orchard fruits on the nose, gentle oak and spice on the palate. 43% is the sweet spot for something you can share without scaring anyone off.
